You can definitely help Sahayta. The www.sahayta.org website is specifically designed to
empower you to do so. The first thing to do is ask yourself is what your interests
are. It is very important to find a project that matches your interest. While
contributing to any project on this site will help cancer victims rebuild their lives,
choosing a project in a field that is part of your natural interests
will help maintain your enthusiasm for continued participation.
Once you find a project that matches your interest, you can donate an item by adding it to the "cart" and going to "check
out". You can e-mail Sahayta to learn more about a project or to discuss
further how you might be able to contribute. You may have services that you could
provide over the internet, for instance providing counselling and emotional support to families
, maybe even traveling to India to volunteer some of your time. You may be able to help rally
some of your friends to "adopt" one
particulat project in India. That way you could pool your resources and make a more
substantial contribution.
The www.sahayta.org website is a way of having you benefit from the years of
volunteerism that has created a wealth of knowledge of people and projects in India
that are on the front lines of empowering cancer victioms and survivors in India to rebuild their lives.
We invite you to investigate more and find a way of helping thes people in a way that is both
meaningful and inspiring to you.
There are two ways you can make a donation. You can donate to a particular project or you can make a general donation. If you choose to make a donation to a project, you can select a particular item and add it to the donation cart. Or you can choose an dollar amount to donate and add that to your donation cart. Once you have chosen all of your donations and added them to your cart, you select "check out". To make a general donation please go to our "Donate Now" page and click on the "Donate" button. At that time you have a choice of donating through your PayPal account or your credit card. Once your donation has been received, you will receive an email confirmation for your donation. Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society is registered with the
US Federal Government as a non-profit charitable association
under the category 501(c)(3). Its Federal Tax ID # is 22-3932974.
Documents and information pertaining to Sahayta can be obtained
from the Secretary of State for the cost of copies and postage.
How do I know that my donation will reach people in India?
Sahayta has developed a network of trusted friends
and volunteers who insure that the donations reach their intended recipients. We do
not give money to organizations but rather buy medicines, supplies etc or give money directly
to the recipients. That way we know that the money is spent as intended.
There are a number of ways you can build faith in this project. One is to e-mail
Sahayta and establish a dialogue with a member of Sahayta. Any
questions or concerns you have can be specifically addressed. You could call Sahayta and
speak with someone who has firsthand knowledge of the projects. You could "experiment"
with a small donation to see if you are satisfied that your money was spent as intended.
If you would like to take a more radical approach, you could travel to Chandigarh, India and
establish a relationship with a recipient. Then, you could make
donations through www.sahayta.org for years to come and get confirmation of your
donations directly from the recipients.

Can I donate in memory or tribute of someone? Yes. You may give a memorial or tribute donation. You can set up an annual scholarship as well. These kind of contributions
are handed out during our annual Cancer Survivor Day celebration. Please make sure to provide all
necessary information. We suggest that you e-mail us so we can be sure to deliver
your donation according to your wishes.
