Financial Support for Treatment This is the most important part of Sahayta's mission. Sahayta tries to provide cancer drugs to needy patients. The priority is to treat patients with good prognosis who cannot afford their costly treatment. Mukesh's Case: Mukesh was referred to us by Dr. S.C. Sharma when Sahayta was still in its infancy stage. When the doctor diagnosed Mukesh with lymphoma his father told him he could not afford his treatment. Dr. Sharma sent him to our office. When we told his father that Sahayta will sponsor the treatment he started crying. We bought him drugs for 6 cycles of chemotherapy. 8 years later he is disease free, married and a father of a son. But for Sahayta he would not be alive today. Since then Sahayta has helped many more like Mukesh. During the last financial year we spent about Rs 17,20,733 ($39,100) for buying chemotherapy drugs.
